Who Am I?
My name is Beverly Dillard and I live in Hernando, Florida in Citrus County.
This area is known as the "Nature Coast of Florida" due to our wetlands, lakes,
coastal regions, and forests.

A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, I moved to Citrus County in 1995. After
being raised in the city, moving to a rural area was quite a cultural shock. I
adapted readily and began to take an interest in animals.
It all started with two cockatoo birds, then two potbellied pigs, and later I
added what I thought were three pygmy goats. Turned out they are probably
actually Oberhasli goats (photo at left). There is one doe and two wethers.
Unfortunately one of the wethers died of renal failure. No matter how much
attention and care the vet and I gave him, he just could not be saved.
While researching goats I came across some information on Nigerian Dwarf Goats.
I immediately fell in love with them because of their small size, colorful
coating, blue eyes, and adorable personalities.
Locating a breeder here in Citrus County, I eventually purchased a doe and a
wether. The breeder helped me a great deal and now has become one of my best
friends.
Miranda,
a Great Pyrenees breed, which are livestock guardian dogs, watches over the herd
and makes sure they are protected.
I now have three does that I am breeding and when they birth the offspring will
appear on the For Sale page.
Not having a large herd allows me time to give each goat personal attention. I
regularly groom, worm, and vaccinate them as well as keep them on preventive
maintenance, including regularly scheduled hoof trimming.
